Mini storage attic

We reveal every step of the opening preparations until Darak Jonggak Station branch opens

Hello, this is self-storage ‘Mini Storage Darak’.

When customers visit a Darak branch, they naturally encounter clean units and a convenient system. But behind that 'naturalness' are the hands of the Darak team, carefully preparing even before opening.

Today, from the time Darak Jonggak Station branch opens, we will reveal in detail the behind-the-scenes of what happens on site.

From the signboards on, we think about the customer flow first

The start of branch opening preparation is attaching customer guidance signboards. We place signs one by one so even first-time visitors know where each unit is and where to get a cart. Since they are designed directly by Darak brand designers, they keep a sense of consistency.

Jonggak Station branch has an arch-shaped building structure, so the customer flow was especially important. From the exterior to the entrance, elevator, and basement access route, we walk the path ourselves and record photos of the best way for customers to find us conveniently. Because the building has multiple entrances, we checked even more carefully.

45 pyeong, 84 units — the scale of Jonggak Station branch

Jonggak Station branch has 84 units in total across 45 pyeong. It is one of the larger Darak branches, and since it's in a new building, the building management condition is also clean. Parking is available from basement level 2 to 4, and by registering your vehicle number on the tablet PC inside the branch, you also get 1 hour of free parking.

We fill even the unseen places with technology

Once the signboard work is done, full-scale technical setup begins. Though invisible on the outside, it is a core process that makes Darak's unmanned operation possible.

Network setup — We set up the internet connection and configure the network so the units can operate normally remotely. Only after this work is completed can headquarters check the open/close status of all units in real time.

Access system integration — We install a security system so only customers, building managers, and Darak staff can enter. Creating a structure that nobody can enter freely is the first condition for unmanned operation.

IoT remote management hub installation — We install an IoT hub that manages the temperature and humidity throughout the branch. It is a device that allows remote control of the air conditioner and dehumidifier, and in branches that are large or have many types of equipment, we sometimes install two or more hubs. After installation, we also record the hub location and management number so that even if another person comes later, they can find it immediately and make it systematic.

Checking everything from CCTV blind spots to sprinkler count

Once technical setup is complete, it's time for safety inspection.

We bring a laptop and check the CCTV screens one by one. We carefully check whether every unit appears on screen without fail and whether there are any blind spots. At Jonggak Station branch, the area around unit 13 was slightly obscured, so we fine-tuned the camera angle.

We also count and record the number of sprinklers ourselves. There are 24 installed at Jonggak Station branch, and accurately knowing the location and quantity of this device, which sprays water in the event of a fire, is the foundation of safety management. The emergency bell board is also placed where it is most visible from the main circulation route, so that in the event of an accident, the security company can be dispatched immediately at the press of a button.

We also prepare an internal guide that maintenance vendors and employees can refer to. By organizing the distribution panel location, piping classification, and equipment information, we make it possible for anyone arriving on site to understand everything right away.

Signboard lighting too, with IoT — Darak's technology philosophy

At Jonggak Station branch, we also conducted a test installing an IoT controller on the signboard for the first time at Darak. It is a system that remotely controls the signboard lights on and off, and after testing on site, we confirmed that it could be controlled normally even indoors.

The Darak operations team takes pride in being "a company that always introduces cutting-edge technology first."

Preview the branch before visiting with VR filming

Once all setup is complete, we finish with VR filming. We scan the entire branch in 360 degrees so customers can look around the interior online without visiting in person.

In large branches, this work takes a lot of time and effort because the camera position has to be moved dozens of times, but for customer convenience, we carry it out at every branch without exception. The filmed VR video can be viewed on the Darak website by branch.

A branch built together by partners and vendors

The Jonggak Station branch opening preparation site isn't just the Darak operations team. The partner who invested in the branch also visited the site in person to see the branch taking shape, and the contractor in charge of the interior also participated in the finishing work together.

The partner's impression was a simple yet confident one-liner.

"Looks good. I'm very much looking forward to it."

This entire process is what makes Darak 'Darak-like'

From attaching a single signboard to adjusting the CCTV angle by 1 degree. Each small detail that customers may not notice contains the care of the Darak team.

Even though it is unmanned operation, behind it, human hands are carefully at work. I hope you could feel that a little through today's behind-the-scenes at Jonggak Station branch.

All Darak branches are important branches, and we devote the same care to every branch.
