Self-storage 'Mini Storage Darak' becomes industry's first to surpass 100,000 cumulative members

Second Syndrome, which operates the self-storage service ‘Mini Storage Darak’ , announced on the 23rd that it has become the first in the industry to surpass 100,000 cumulative members nationwide.
Second Syndrome introduced Korea's first self-storage facility in 2016 near Whimoon High School in Gangnam-gu, Seoul, and recorded 1,000 cumulative members shortly after opening. Since then, amid the rise in single-person and small households, it secured 10,000 members within two years of opening. In 2023, the number surged to 50,000.
As membership rose sharply, the number of units (storage rooms) sold by Mini Storage Darak also exceeded 36,000. As of this month, the repurchase rate is approaching 92%. Second Syndrome has also obtained numerous patents related to unmanned services and storage operation systems.
In addition, last year it signed an MOU with GS E&C to introduce a premium Darak service within 'Xi' apartments, and is working with Korea Land & Housing Corp. (LH), the Korea Post Office, and others to introduce shared storage facilities in various idle spaces across Seoul.
"Going forward, we will continue to strengthen our differentiated premium services, and through collaboration with various institutions, we will help popularize self-storage and become the overwhelming benchmark in this market," a Second Syndrome official said.
