SH to Create Shared Storage Space 'SH:ARE' in Semi-Basement of Purchased Rental Housing

(Seoul = Yonhap News) Reporter Jae-ha Hwang = Seoul Housing and Communities Corporation (SH) announced on the 20th that it will create a shared storage space in the semi-basement space of purchased rental housing and start the service this month.

This project converts neglected, idle semi-basement spaces into daily life support spaces, helping residents who lack storage space to store their belongings at a low cost.

SH is collaborating with a private shared storage operator, ' Mini Storage DaLock', to transform empty, purchased semi-basement rental housing in districts such as Seocho-gu, Seongbuk-gu, and Gwanak-gu into storage facilities.

The brand for this shared storage is 'SH:ARE', where SH provides the space and facilities, and a private operator handles system operations and user management.

SH plans to open a total of 10 branches sequentially by September, starting with Seocho-gu this month. The target locations were selected based on areas densely populated with housing lacking storage spaces and where the demand for luggage storage is high.

It is operated as an unmanned system, allowing reservation, payment, and access control through a smartphone app.

SH President Sang-ha Hwang said, "This project is an example of converting an empty semi-basement space, which was difficult to use for residential purposes, into a practical facility that enhances the convenience of residents' daily lives," adding, "We will continue to actively utilize the idle spaces held by the corporation to discover life-oriented projects that citizens can deeply experience."
