Mini Storage DaLock
Semi-basements are transformed into shared storage — SH Corporation × Mini Storage DaLock
Hello, we are self-storage 'Mini Storage DaLock'.
There are abandoned semi-basement spaces all over Seoul. These are empty spaces left behind as the government and local governments supported the relocation of semi-basement residents after the 2022 flooding incident. Although it is difficult for people to live in, it is a waste to leave these spaces abandoned.
Seoul Housing and Communities Corporation (SH) is converting these spaces into shared storage. And Mini Storage DaLock has been selected as its operator.
Turning abandoned spaces into practical infrastructure

SH Corporation will establish 28 semi-basement units in purchased rental housing as shared storage. The official brand name is 'Share,' and is structured such that SH Corporation provides the space while Mini Storage DaLock handles the system and user management.
Starting with Seocho-gu, densely populated residential areas such as Seongbuk-gu and Gwanak-gu were selected first, and 10 branches will open sequentially by September. It is designed so that nearby residents with insufficient storage space can use it at an affordable cost.
DaLock's technology is applied exactly as is

The storage is operated as a 100% unmanned system. Reservations, payments, and access control are done through a smartphone app, and proper humidity control and CCTV security devices are also applied. It is the exact same method that DaLock has been operating in more than 220 branches nationwide.
Hwang Sang-a, President of SH, said, "We converted the empty semi-basement space into a practical facility," and added, "We will continue to discover projects that citizens can deeply appreciate."
A model first recognized by the public sector
This collaboration is not just a simple partnership. It means that public institutions have recognized self-storage as a part of urban infrastructure. As a model for returning abandoned, idle spaces to residents as a practical service, SH Corporation chose DaLock as the operator.
Following the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport's establishment of the 'shared storage facility' usage category and the National Pension Service's designation of the New Economy, we have now reached public cooperation projects. Self-storage is moving beyond a simple warehouse business and is establishing itself as an infrastructure that solves urban space problems.
